Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) served 51.6 million passengers in 2025, solidifying its position as one of the nation's busiest airports and a vital hub in the country's fifth-largest city. PHX is the largest of three airports in the Phoenix Airport System, which also includes Deer Valley and Goodyear airports. All three are operated by the City of Phoenix Aviation Department (AVN) and collectively generate an impressive annual economic impact of $44.3 billion.
The Aviation Superintendent for Conveyance Systems provides leadership and operational oversight for the airport's major conveyance infrastructure, including Vertical Transportation and the Baggage Handling System. The Superintendent oversees two Section Heads who administer maintenance contracts, support modernization efforts, and ensure system safety, availability, and compliance. The role leads budgeting, planning, vendor performance, and coordination with airport stakeholders, airlines, TSA, and engineering teams.
SALARY
Hiring Range: $93,121.60 to $124,800.00 annually.
