As the Recreational Sports and Athletic Facilities Coordinator, you will coordinate the daily operations and serve as the point person for all reservations in the Sports and Recreation Center and Athletic Facilities; approve and develop schedules for groups that utilize athletic and recreation facilities based on priority guidelines; maintain, update, and disperse athletic and recreation facility event and activity schedules; and ensure schedule changes or closures are communicated to the necessary stakeholders.
You will coordinate events hosted in the athletic facilities and athletic fields from beginning to end; ensure all required documentation is approved and attached to the reservation system; assist with promoting and marketing recreational facilities, programs, and events; and maintain public and internal websites, including social media platforms, with up-to-date information on programs, services, and highlights.
Additionally, the Recreational Sports and Athletic Facilities Coordinator will assist in administrative operations: processing check requests, invoices, P-card statements, and deposits; assist with file management, including preparation of documents, Microsoft/Google forms, files, copying, and scanning; and organize various meetings including scheduling rooms, audio-visual equipment meeting agendas, and taking notes during meetings.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a recreation-related field and two to three years of relevant work experience. Knowledge and ability to use Windows operating systems are necessary. A strong customer service orientation with excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Must have excellent time management and organizational skills and be able to multitask.
Preferred candidates will have three years of relevant work experience. Working experience and/or knowledge of campus recreation, athletics, wellness programming or event management in higher education is preferred. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence is desired.
