Position: Director of Facilities & Compliance

Position Type: Full-Time/Salary & Benefits 

Reports to: Head of School

Facility Responsibilities:

• Oversee the overall management, maintenance and safety of the facilities physical environment including, but not limited to upkeep/cleaning, repairs, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, waste services, both minor or major in scope.
• Be the point person for any external vendors and contractors for facility-related services.
• Maintain clear and open communication with the admin and teaching teams regarding facility related issues.
• Ensure that each classroom environment is in compliance with local and federal regulations & requirements such as DC Health and OSSE (Office of the State Superintendent of Education).
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for facility improvements.
• All ordering of non-program related building supplies that support building operations (kitchen/bathroom/cleaning supplies, etc). 

Compliance Responsibilities:

• Maintain all staff records required by OSSE (Office of the State Superintendent of Education) and DC Health.
• Maintain all student records required by OSSE (Office of the State Superintendent of Education) and DC Health. 
• Collaborate with the teaching teams to ensure that all safety requirements for each classroom are maintained.
• Maintain all systems that are required for OSSE, DC Health, and PEF (Pay Equity Fund) such as DELLT (Division of Early Learning Licensing Tool), Quickbase, Octo, DC Health Link, among others.
• Maintain strict confidentiality with regards to all records 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a closely related field
• Experience with OSSE (Office of the State Superintendent of Education) and the related requirements for Early Childhood Facilities specific to Washington, DC
• An understanding of systems within the physical facility, maintenance practices, and safety requirements that align with DC Health & OSSE.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
