The City of Pearland is actively searching for an experienced, knowledgeable and collaborative leader to take on the role of Procurement Manager. The ideal candidate is compliance-minded and solution oriented, open and amenable to innovative ideas and solutions. They will be able to to work in a cross-functional, multi-departmental support role. The next Procurement Manager will be able to translate purchasing policies, legal statutes, and industry-specific terms to layman’s language and be able to read, understand, comprehend, explain, and recommend a range of purchasing policies and statutes.
A bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field, and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience, including supervision, in purchasing supplies, materials, and equipment commonly used by municipal government agencies, is required. Any combination of equivalent experience and training to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Candidates must have knowledge of and experience with State and Federal procurement statutes. Grants-compliant purchasing experience is a plus. Candidates must have a valid Texas Class “C” driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $88,822-$125,461, with an overall salary range up to $137,674 dependent on qualifications and experience.
