Director Facilities Management Position Summary
Department administrator. Establishes and enforces policies, procedures, standards and objectives. Directs and supervises staff as well as workflow. Position has budgetary or fiscal accountability. Position provides efficient, cost-effective hospital support from Plant Operations, through the utilization and development of systems within Vanguard Corporate and facility guidelines. The director is responsible for hospital safety, life safety, and the corrective and preventive maintenance programs involving the hospital physical plant and buildings, general maintenance, medical equipment repair, power plant, biomedical electronics, grounds, construction, and security. This position may serve as the Safety Officer for the facility. The Director maintains the hospital in a sanitary, attractive, safe, orderly condition, and in compliance with all regulatory standards. Position is responsible for approving timekeeping, employee evaluation, meeting applicable regulatory standards, approving supply orders and department strategic planning.
Qualifications:THE DIRECTOR FACILITIES MANAGEMENT CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management or related field, or equivalent minimum experience requirements.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Five years experience in facilities management in a hospital setting with three years supervisory experience required. Construction project management experience.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Considerable knowledge of JCAHO standards, OSHA, state and local codes normally associated with hospitals.
SPECIAL SKILLS: High level of initiative, autonomy, and organization is required. Ability to manage and direct multiple aspects of facilities services functions. Able to handle stress resulting from heavy, varied, and inconsistent workload. Excellent management and communication skills.
