Xavier University, a Jesuit Catholic institution, seeks applications for full-time Director for Athletic Facilities and Operations. This position works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Business and Finance and serves as the manager of facilities and operations for Athletics’ including Cintas Center, Schiff Family Conference and Banquet Center, Heidt Family Champions Center, Hayden Field, Xavier Soccer Complex and the Brockhoff Family Tennis Facility. This position works closely with internal University units and external entities to include but not limited to coaching staffs, student-athletes and vendors for goods & services. This position will assist in supervising the maintenance, function and improvement of Xavier’s athletic facilities. This will include maintaining all buildings and fields with the assistance of Xavier University’s Physical Plant team, and coordinating the repair and replacement of equipment and enhancing facilities where appropriate. This position is the primary contact and is ultimately responsible for the planning and execution of games and events. (Examples include all Athletic games as well as a wide array of events that may include but are not limited to graduations, concerts, conferences, high school basketball tournaments etc.).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manages athletic facilities to include but not limited to: schedule of use, security, and oversight of building systems and performance. Engages and manages relationships with service providers to ensure proper custodial and maintenance for Athletics’ facilities in an effort to resolve any operational issues. •Lead responsibility for day-to-day facility operations. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training and managing three hourly operation specialists. •Serves as primary event manager during home Athletic contests or other arena events as well as events within the Schiff Conference Center. •Manages event set-up for all Athletics’ facilities and spaces including banquet and conference-level activity. Supervise and assist with set-up and tear down of physical facilities including but not limited to the setup of tables, chairs, stages, platforms, etc. •The position supervises third party staff responsible for the game day operations of Athletics’ events including Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer and Baseball. Assign, manage and supervise event-related contract employees to include ushers, ticket takers, peer security, parking attendants, police, fire marshals and medical critical care staffs. Assign such personnel in a way to ensure successful and safe events while managing labor budget. •Develops and executes event management plans for all events. •Develop, evaluate, and manage policies and procedures related to the operation of athletic facilities. •Serve as the Game and Event Manager for a variety of events held in athletic venues. •Develop athletic facilities integrated maintenance plan in coordination with Physical Plant to address daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly facilities infrastructure and systems repair, replace, and maintenance needs.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university ideally with a business, sports administration or facility management focus.
At least two years of facility management related work experience in intercollegiate athletics.
Ability to effectively communicate both written and oral, with a diverse constituent group of stakeholders, both internally and externally including but not limited to: coaches, administrators, student-athletes, parents, faculty, staff, and high school staff members.
Handle multiple tasks and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational, planning, problem-solving, negotiation, , and analytical skills.
Ability to develop a vision for an area and have the ability to communicate that vision in such a way that desired results are achieved.
Ability to propose, negotiate and fulfill detailed contracts.
Ability to influence and build working relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels.
Ability to read, analyze, interpret, instruct and effectively communicate complex rules, regulations and policies from the University, Big East Conference and NCAA.
Three to five years of facility management related work experience in intercollegiate athletics.
